One Israeli's Disappointment with His Country's Role as "Conquerors"

Book critic John Leonard reviews David Grossman's novel See Under: Love, about Holocaust survivors. Leonard says he's still not sure if the fantastic plot and inventive structure work -- or if the ambitious book is indeed a masterpiece.

Grossman has just written his third novel, "The Book of Intimate Grammar." It tells the story of a young Israeli boy struggling with his family and the world he lives in. Grossman's hero has been compared to Huck Finn and Holden Caulfield, as a boy fighting against growing up.

Ta-Nehisi Coates. He's best known for his book "Between The World And Me," which won a National Book Award, and his Atlantic Magazine cover story, "The Case For Reparations." His new book, "The Message," is about his reflections on race, slavery, colonialism, and identity, on trips to South Carolina, Senegal, and Israel on the West Bank.
