Classical music critic Lloyd Schwartz reviews a new album by pianist Garrick Ohlsson. Ohlsson has a reputation for highlighting obscure works; this time Ohlsson performs a little-known work by Debussy, as well as one of Debussy's most famous pieces.

Novelist Reynolds Price Writes his Memoirs.

Writer Reynolds Price. Though Price has written books of poetry, essays and translation, he has earned his widest recognition for his novels, which work in a southern tradition depicting small towns in the 40s and 50s. His Southern Gothic tales deal with families coming together then scattering after suicides, soured romances. His 1986 novel, Kate Vaiden, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction, and, like Price's best fiction (A Long and Happy Life, Good Hearts), is told primarily from the point of view of a woman.

Terry McMillan on the Sacrifices We Make for "Love."

Author Terry McMillan. She's a black writer whose first novel was "Mama." Her new novel, "Disappearing Acts," is set in Brooklyn in 1982 and takes a look at what makes a relationship work. It's about an educated black man who falls in love with an uneducated black woman.

Yo-Yo Ma on ‘touching infinity’ through his nearly 300-year-old cello, Petunia

Yo-Yo Ma, along with his cello, which he'll be playing. He's the most famous contemporary cellist and perhaps the most revered in the U.S. His best-known recordings are of the Bach Solo Cello Suites, which he's recorded three times - in 1983, 1997 and 2018. He's performed with orchestras around the world, but lots of people who pay no attention to classical music know Yo-Yo Ma because he's performed in so many different settings.

Screenwriters RASHIDA JONES and WILL MCCORMACK. They're the writing team behind the new film The Invite, directed by Olivia Wilde and starring Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. They've been creative partners for more than two decades, first as co-writers of Celeste and Jesse Forever. JONES is an actor, writer, producer, and director. She won a Grammy for co-directing the documentary Quincy, about her father, Quincy Jones, and recently earned an Emmy nomination for her performance in Black Mirror. MCCORMACK is an Academy Award-winning writer, director, and actor.

Remembering music theater historian Robert Kimball

(1.) ROBERT KIMBALL, the musical historian who rediscovered and rescued music and manuscripts by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and others – and who co-wrote important books about George and Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Eubie Blake – died last week, at the age of 86. He was the artistic advisor to the Cole Porter and Ira Gershwin estates.
