Kurtz is media reporter for "The Washington Post." He has a new book, called "Media Circus: The Trouble with America's Newspapers." In the book, he looks at how the press has bungled some important stories like the HUD scandal and the S&L mess, the William Kennedy Smith trial, and the Clarence Thomas hearings.

The NPR broadcast journalist was co-host of the award-winning news magazine "All Things Considered" for fourteen years and the host of the Sunday show "Weekend Edition" from its inception in 1987. She's collected her favorite interviews from the past two decades in a new book, called "Talk."

Roberts, who died Tuesday, was a congressional correspondent in the early days of NPR, when there were few women reporters on radio or TV. She later joined ABC News. Originally broadcast in 1993.

In a conversation recorded live before an audience, Terry asks her about covering Congress and how her political upbringing affects her reporting.

Journalist Michelangelo Signorile. He writes regularly for "The Advocate," and "Out" magazine. He has a new book, called "Queer in America: Sex, the Media, and the Closets of Power." Signorile is a proponent of controversial practice of "outing" -- revealing the homosexuality of someone in power or position whether that person wants it known or not.

BBC correspondent Misha Glenny has covered the war in the former Yugoslavia and is the author of the book "The Fall of Yugoslavia." Terry will talk with him about why he thinks there should be no intervention in Bosnia.

Foreign Correspondent for NPR, Tom Gjelten He's been reporting from Bosnia. Terry will talk with him about what it's been like to cover the war in the former Yugoslavia. Gjelten just won the prestigious George Polk Award for his piece, "Massacre on the Mountain," about a massacre of 200 Bosnian Muslim men. Gjelten also reported on the Gulf War and on the conflicts in Central America.

The former New York Times reporter was based in Poland from 1979-1982 during the rise of the Solidarity movement and martial law. Darnton just returned to Poland and wrote about it for the New York Times. He'll talk with Terry about his observations.

NPR correspondent and writer Frank Browning. He has a new book about gay culture, "The Culture of Desire: Paradox and Perversity in Gay Lives Today."

New York Times journalist Jane Perlez has been covering Africa since 1988 and has been credited with recognizing stories before the rest of the media. She was reporting on the trouble in Somalia, and the threat of famine a year ago, long before it became the focus of world attention.
