We remember British actor Sir Alec Guinness who died Saturday at the age of 86. He’s known to older audiences for his roles in films like “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” and to younger audiences as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars. (REBROADCAST from 2/27/1986)

We remember actress Nancy Marchand who died Sunday at the age of 71. Most recently she was best-known for playing the bitter mother of Tony Soprano in the HBO series “The Sopranos.” During the 1970s she played the newspaper publisher on the “Lou Grant” show. Reynolds, who died Thursday, appeared in scores of films, including Deliverance and Boogie Nights. He spoke to Terry Gross in 1994 about growing up the son of a sheriff in a small Florida town.

Actor Raul Julia died this morning, after a stroke last week. His films include "Kiss of the Spider Woman," "Moon Over Parador," "Tequilla Sunrise." and "Romero." He also starred in "The Addams Family" series, as Gomez, the patriarch. He had a long career in musical theater as well, including "The Three-Penny Opera," "Nine," and "Man of la Mancha." Jeanne Moreau was an actress of the French new wave who broke the rules both on screen and off. She died Monday in Paris at the age of 89.
